San Jose WON tonight

Fucking San Jose won this by a landslide!

I didn’t watch the actual broadcast (shoutout to Hockey Guy’s livestream), so this rating will be moreso about the Flames draft and just my general opinion on the draft. Starting with the Flames, I love the Carels pick. I was kind of expecting to us to go forward after the Nemec trade, but this screams ‘best player available’ which is the best way to approach the draft. Carels is probably the best skater in terms of tools and his farm boy background makes him perfect for Calgary. The Jack Hextall pick has me lukewarm. Great playmaker, a deadly powerplay player and the right mentality to become a two-way player. It just doesn’t get me excited. I like it, but I really wish we had taken Bleyl and I’m not just saying that because he’s a Moncton Wildcat. As for the draft itself, 32 picks should not take 4 hours and the awkward interviews and delays between picks alongside them announcing trades well in the past before Calgary’s pick is not good. Flames draft gets 9 draft itself gets 4.

I hate to say this but I turned it on for the caps pick, watched it, analyzed it, thought about it, turned it off, then continued my day.
