2026 NBA Slam Dunk Contest

The dunk contest is dead. This may have been the one to end it. The most notable faces in this dunk contest were the judges, all NBA legends with their time being wasted on a cheap replica of an event each of them used to define. If I was Dominique or Dr. J, I'd be pissed the whole night. When Jaxson Hayes is your most recognizable face in the contest, you know it's going to be a sad showing. You also feel how sad the contest is when Jace Richardson has a legit injury scare missing an attempt and Carter Bryant didn't know enough about the rules and lost because of that. Keshad Johnson is one of the worst dunk contest winners ever. He spent more time dancing than preparing or executing any of his dunks. He symbolizes perfectly the clown show this event has become. On top of all of those gripes, dunks in this contest often took two, three, or even four attempts to get through. Contestants, please, practice your dunks. 1.1 because three players in this were wearing 11. Waste of time.
