Chicago wins a solid game where it felt like Orlando was quite a bit better! The Fire took a very early lead that was followed by a very long weather delay before the end of the first half. That delay took a bit of momentum away from this game, but both sides were able to mostly recover! Orlando had almost all of the quality chances to close this game out and they did find the back of the net fairly early on in the second half, but they would also give up a penalty that Chicago was able to convert! Orlando had a few more good chances, but it would be the Fire holding on for a fairly lucky win! Orlando still looked very good tonight even with the loss

An early goal can be a bit of a double edged sword for the neutral. After Dithejane's lovely finish + Berhalter Ball, that might have been that. While the Fire did have to soak up a lot of pressure for the following 15-20 mins, the game then began to open up with both sides quick on the transition. Before the enforced break CHI looked somewhat more vulnerable at the back as Orlando threatened to equalise before HT. After the break, Chicago did well holding their shape & impressive organisation. A set-piece looked to be Orlando's best bet and so it proved, with the equalizer coming from a corner. A draw might have been a fair result but Orlando's captain made a daft challenge in the box. Lewy converted the penalty. Final goal of the game, 2-1 For Orlando, a story of what could have been - what if no rain delay, more clinical finishing etc. But the foundation is there. Griezmann looks to be gelling with his teammates and obv he'll be vital against RSL and any potential playoff push.
