LAFC did break their losing streak tonight, but I was definitely hoping for more from them. Almost instantly, Portland found the back of the net. Other than that though, LAFC was vastly superior in every aspect. They completely dominated especially in shots, but they couldn’t break through for a long time. The Timbers did an outstanding job holding them off, but they would eventually get on the board! It was Denis Bouanga in the 79th minute to secure at least a point for the Black and Gold! LAFC would earn some amazing opportunities to close out this game, but a really nice save on one of their final chances let Portland hang on. LAFC could’ve done a lot more with just a little better luck

The opening stages were a bit scrappy and one of the first cohesive pieces of play either team put together ended with the Timbers going 1-0 up within the opening five minutes.
After 15 minutes game settled into a regular pattern of LAFC peppering the Portland goal with shots, the Timbers struggling to get out of their own half thanks to LA's high pressing, more shots, more turnovers, etc.
It was about 30 minutes later until Portland were about to get any far enough up field to get any shots away, but all were off target.
After the restart things calmed down a little for Portland but they were still unable to do much and cliché as it may be to say, you can't let a team with the firepower of LAFC have that many shots on target and keep a clean sheet without a minor miracle.
Bouanga's equaliser was a delightful move and finish and no less than LAFC deserved. Thankfully I didn't stay up and watch this live because I'd have just had zero sleep with this frustrating Timbers performance.
