I’m not gonna lie, this game was way too early and I slept through it all, but what a statement from Hull City! I went into this game thinking they didn’t have a chance at all! Lo and behold, they would strike first very early on and they added on a brace not too long after in the first half! Hull City mostly sat back after that which gave Manchester United some chances, but they couldn’t convert any of them as Hull City secures the full three points! Hull City looked really good and kind of dominated!

Totally unexpected result, glad I woke up early to watch it. Manchester United looked lost and the midfield completely out of form. Any recovery by Hull in the 1st half led to dangerous counter attacks. The center backs could not cover or clear anything in the air and conceived both goals through plays that started in the air. A little worrisome for Man U, but it's only the first game

Hull City with a stunner! This game was pretty simple: Hull City took their chances, Manchester United didn’t. That first half especially Hull looked more inventive, creative, and dangerous than Man U really ever did. A couple well placed headers flashed into the United goal and after that Hull parked the bus. Nothing else to say really, just no true quality in the final third for United and Hull managed to grab a great result in their return to the Premier League. Decent game but not out of this world, congrats to Hull City! 👏

Hull came out looking great and attacking a lot so it came as no surprise Thad they scored but it was a surprise thad they scored twice and Manchester United just couldn’t get anything working marcus rashford was the only united player that was challenging hull

Off the back of my (debateable) memories of PL opening weekends, I always tend to back the new clubs to provide a shock. It's probably a bit of a Mandela effect/myth I've made up but still.. In the end I only managed to catch the highlights of this one. I tend to take football highlights packages with a pinch of salt but this looked like one of the more humbling 2-0 away defeats you could see. Dream start for the Tigers, quite ignominious for United.
