Its been a young Premier League season filled with upsets so far and it looked like we were bound for another here. While Bournemouth is good, I expected City to win this pretty handily, but they conceded early, and 80 minutes in, things were looking grim. Of course that was until Marc Guehi scored, and Gvardiol decided he didn't want Guehi to be lonely in the scoring department for Man City and netted the winner in the 92nd minute. Guehi played out of the defensive midfielder spot in this game rather than center back, of course those are going to be huge shoes to fill after the loss of Rodri, and Guehi filled those shoes well in this one.

Great start from Bournemouth. City on the backfoot early on, but they dig deep like always and found a couple of late goals out of nothing. Cherki made a big impact when he came on.

My 100th take and yes I did watch all the other games and didn’t rate them so this could be my 100th for the first city game of the Premier League and this is one I thought that we wouldn’t win after Bournemouth went one nil up and we had a fair few chances that were blocked or wide guehi redeemed himself after a missed layup header to Tie 1-1 and then I thought that it would end tide after the offside, and I thought, oh, that’s the chance it’s off side but turns out Gavardiol was onside for a stoppage time winner a close shave almost as close as Erling Haalands new haircut which I absolutely hate

pretty solid game, thought Bournemouth was going to pull it off and they played great up until the last quarter of the game. the header was a great play, but the lil cheeky sneak pass the defender on the second goal for Man City was just poor defense. tough loss for Bournemouth but they are gaining interest from me as a Free Agent for the Prem. Tavernier is a dog almost had another goal after his first one on a solid shot.

Bournemouth loves making it difficult for Manchester City and you have to respect that. Although I am sad they couldn’t pull off the upset, the City comeback made for a great game. Dollar store Pep nearly had a horrendous start to his manager stint at the Etihad only to get bailed out by a couple defenders. Before that, it looked bleak. Despite dominating on the pitch, City couldn’t finish to save their life despite having a certain viking at the top. Haaland got a couple good chances, but failed to capitalize and struggled to get touches on the ball outside of that. Meanwhile the Cherries managed to take one of their few chances and nail it. The Community Shield was not ideal, but losing their first game could’ve sent their supporters into hysterics. Luckily for them (and unluckily for everyone else), Guehi and Gvardiol saved the day after a dramatic VAR check. Massive props to Cherki for the clutch through ball. I feel for the Cherries, but what a dramatic way to start their seasons

Bournemouth comes out strong, but in the final moments Guehi scores to tie it. Then Gvardiol scores, it's called offsides, but after further review he was onside. Couldn't have asked for a better opener

Magic moment at the end for Man City!!!

Made the questionable decision to root for Max Verstappen in the last Dutch Grand Prix instead of watching this live. Prior to kickoff I genuinely thought Bournemouth would trouble City because the Blues have like 5 senior players left after the recent departures. I will probably watch this back in full when it becomes available but from what little I've seen it seemed to be a pretty even game. Gvardiol (future City captain) did really well with his finish and to get the ball out from under his feet.
