Still remember watching this one. Absolutely incredible upset. I remembered Notre Dame losing to Marshall in 2022 and thought no way it happens again, but it happened again. Notre Dame gives the ball away on an interception up 14-13, and Northern Illinois just fought down the field for a field goal, and Notre Dame missed the potential game winner. Just pure shock. In the end, it didn't matter too much as Notre Dame went 11-1 and made the playoffs, but this was absolutely crazy and it was so funny to see my two friends who are Notre Dame fans react to this. I mean one of them just left Notre Dame and became a Colorado fan after this. But don't worry, he was a Notre Dame fan again when the playoffs rolled around.
