Low scoring, hard-nosed and chaotic out of nowhere. Cam Cook is the FBS’s leader in rushing yards so it was surprising to see him take a while to get going. After 3 quarters with Kennesaw overpowering their opponent, one sequence completely flipped this game in its head. Kennesaw got stuffed on the goal line, a safety and then fumbled the kickoff after a hit from Jacksonville St’s kicker. That sequence completely shifted momentum. Jacksonville took that free possession and got their first touchdown, stuffed Kennesaw and scored their 2nd TD AND got the 2-point conversion to make it 15 unanswered points. Kennesaw didn’t go quietly, even with a 3rd and 27 and 4th and 14 on that final drive. Odom came up huge on that final drive. Despite all that good, it would be ignorant of me to ignore questionable officiating down the stretch, still good, just sullied by the officials being confused. Still, the important part is Kennesaw keeps their slim playoff hopes alive and avoids disaster.

Kennesaw State had a 12-0 lead in the 4th quarter and it looked like they were going to cruise to the C-USA title but Jacksonville State went on a 15-0 run to take the lead. But Kennesaw State mounted a late touchdown drive to win 19-15 and win the conference in their second FBS season.
