It was interesting for a second there - congrats on the playoff spot, JMU.

Had a laugh at the whole snowball throwing ejection warning thing. JMU had sort of a shaky start but clamped down after that.

Lets GOOOOOOO DUKES. Yeah hell no. I haven't really heard of JMU football until last year. I guess congrats on the playoff spot. They ain't making it again till the 64 team playoff 😭😭

Kinda a fun game which I enjoyed watching for quite a bit. Got out of hand late, but had us going there that they might actually lose. JMU should move on with that win, though, to the CFP.

Better than it looks

4:11 left this was 14-17, JMU dominated at the end but they could have easily if dropped this.

Wayne Knight made this game. Student section went nuts with throwing snowballs, but the game result was very expected.

Now this team should be in the playoff, but if the committee will keep glazing Tulane (who lost by 22 to UTSA), they’ll need Duke to win

Kind of an ugly start but the second half was great

JMU was in trouble in the 4th quarter but pulled away with two late touchdowns to win the Sun Belt title and keep themselves in the CFP conversation

JMU pulled away at the end a kept their playoff hopes alive but they still need a lot of help

A statement win. Not for a team; but for a player. Alonza Barnett III was named Sun Belt player of the year right before this game and this game could cement that honour. However, at first, it looked like this game would become a stain on his season. Luckily for Barnett, JMU also had the Sun Belt’s top running back in Wayne Knight. 212 rushing yards, 10 yards per carry, 1 73 yard TD and he even caught a couple passes. For how much Barnett struggled in the first 3 quarters, they needed that performance to hold off Troy. Thankfully, Barnett showed why he was voted player of the year on that final scoring drive, especially with the rushing TD, then JMU put the cherry on top of their victory with a fumble return TD. After JMU’s final offensive touchdown, Troy had no chance and they played like it. This victory for JMU does put some pressure on Virginia to beat Duke tomorrow, otherwise, they’re out of the playoff.
