Eli Manning had one of the craziest sack escapes I've ever seen and it's topped off by David Tyree catching it on his helmet. The perfect season came to an end for the patriots as one of the greatest wrs ever never gets a ring. This game is probably the sole reason Eli Manning is even in HOF contention

The first football game I ever watched. Granted, my 8 year-old self had no idea what was on the line. I had only just grasped the sport of ice hockey. The main thought I remember leaving this game with was ‘those are small yards’ because I thought yard meant a backyard instead of a unit of measurement. However, all these years later, I’m glad I can say I saw this live, even though I had no idea what was happening. Everyone knows the story. The undefeated Patriots walked in poised to become the greatest team of all-time only for New York to give them a GIANT loss. Everyone talks about the Tyree plays that make this game legendary, but I think the performance of the Giants’ defense has become under-appreciated. Remember, they held arguably the best offense in NFL history to 14 points. Michael Strahan and co sacked Brady 5 times. He hadn’t been sacked more than 3 times all season long. Justin Tuck was most impressive, his 2 sacks and 2 TFLs are part of why this game remained low-scoring.

In Victoria Adamo's basement I was surrounded by a group of my friends who were mostly Giants fans and then there was another group of kids who were from our rival town and were bullies. I was 17 yrs old so a senior in high school and I remember at half time we were sneaking shots of Absolut outside and it was cold. The bullies from the rival town were rooting for the Pats and it seemed like they were gonna win. Then David Tyree's helmet catch happened in slow motion. I thought Eli was sacked and they blew the whistle but when we got out of it and launched that thing it was in slow motion in the air forever. When Plaxico caught that touchdown and the Giants won the Super Bowl it was such an incredible feeling. No undefeated season for the Pats. Good guys win. Bullies lose. one of the best SBs of all time.
