Just another bad loss by a bad Patriots team. After a good start to his rookie season, Maye really started to tail off even against a bad Cardinals defense. 202 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception in this one. Obviously not the worst performance, but had a chance to win this game and just wasn't good enough. Really couldn't do much to stop the Cardinals. Kyler Murray had 224 passing yards and James Conner had 110 rushing. Trey McBride showed why he's the best tight end in the NFL. When a tight end has that incredible mix of size and speed McBride had, it's damn near impossible to guard him. That's what made Travis Kelce so successful, and George Kittle as well. You can succeed with a fast tight end, but then the safety can contain him. You can succeed with a strong tight end, but then a linebacker can contain him. When you mix elite speed and elite strength in a tight end, and he can run routes, you just can't guard that unless you have a freak of nature at the linebacker position.

Patriots had some decent drives in this but just couldn't follow through, most painfully on the back of some excellent Stevenson and Gibson rushes getting stifled on 4 & 1 in the red zone. Boutte practically passing the ball to Arizona may have been even worse. After that the Cardinals just buried New England.
At least Maye got to cap things on a good note, waltzing into the end zone on his own.
