Chicago jumped out early, taking advantage of a couple of ugly Commanders turnovers. Caleb Williams looked poised for most of the night, moving the ball well and connecting on some big throws, especially the 55-yard touchdown to D’Andre Swift, who was easily the spark of the offense. Swift ran hard all night and gave Chicago the kind of balance they’ve been missing. But as the game went on, Jayden Daniels started to take over for Washington. He looked calm and confident, throwing three touchdown passes and showing flashes of why everyone’s been so high on him this season. Every time Chicago thought they had control, Daniels made a play to pull the Commanders back in it. When Washington took a late 24–22 lead, it felt like the Bears were about to fold. Could only catch the 4th quarter of this game as I was consumed by both hockey and playoff baseball. I found myself getting some Deja vu watching these teams in those uniforms have a close game with a final drive deciding the game. The Bears get their revenge for the Hail Mary with Caleb Williams outdueling Jayden Daniels, but I want to talk about D’Andre Swift. Swift was the catalyst for the Bears offense and basically won the game for them on that final drive after the Daniels fumble set them up. Gotta feel good for Chicago.
