The difference between these teams in this matchup was simple. One team has Jahmyr Gibbs and the other doesn’t. Gibbs ran all over the Buccaneers defense. Though, ngl, I still thought Baker was gonna orchestrate a miraculous comeback and get the win in the clutch. The Lions were having none of it tho as the defense performs admirably and keeps the stacked Bucs offense in check pretty much all night long. Don’t think for a second this was a completely stale experience. The Bucs attempt at a comeback was more than a whimper and the Lions made huge plays both offensively and defensively. Besides the long Gibbs TD, the end of the 1st half was nuts. An interception on a bobbled pass for the Lions only for the Bucs to get their own pick and get a field goal out of it. Although that showed off another reason the Lions won: forced fumbles. While Detroit couldn’t recover most of them, they knocked the wind out of Tampa Bay.
