I dont think a single person had the Panthers making the playoffs this year. Let’s be honest, we all thought they were done after starting 1-3, including the MeowMix podcast. To finish 7-6 on the year doesn’t make this team good by almost any metric, but they’re at least mid. When’s the last time the Panthers were mid? When’s the last time they were a fringe playoff contender? It’s been seven long years, and outside of 7 wins in 2022, there’s been next to no hope. Here’s to hoping the Panthers build on the momentum after being blown to smithereens in the Wild Card.

I see we have chosen the chaotic good for the NFC South this season. The Panthers have gone from the perhaps the worst situation in the NFL to playoff bound. I don’t care if they eviscerated in the playoffs, this is a triumph for them. Anyway, the game itself. Fittingly, it was also quite chaotic. Falcons went up early and looked primed to crush Tampa’s playoff hopes in easy fashion. But the Saints, playing like they had anything on the line besides draft position, started to come back. Their defense became a bend but don’t break unit, holding the Falcons to multiple short field goals. Tyler Shough figured out how to cut through the Falcons D with his arm and feet. Best of all, Juwan Johnson had a very bipolar game. Coughed up a fumble and caught some of the most important passes. In the end, the Saints didn’t have enough juice. The Falcons win today seals up the Buccaneers as a historic single season collapse and the Panthers as a wonderful redemption story. May Chaos reign again.
