The Spurs are much more than Wembanyama and that should scare everyone. Even without Castle, Dennis Vassell and De’Aaron Fox more than made up the difference. For the Blazers, Deni Avdija was incredible and continues to validate his elite status, but I honestly think it was his 2 missed free throws with about 3 minutes left that ended any chance of a Blazers win. Prior to that, the Blazers were in striking distance while relying on Avdija to close the gap, as soon as Deni showed weakness, Portland was screwed. To be fair, can’t ask much more from him when the rest of the team shoots awfully, especially Caleb Love (sorry Maddie) and Jerami Grant. 1st half had some back and forth, Spurs pulled away in the 2nd half, but the Blazers kept it kind of close until that incident I mentioned before. Even with that, I still thought San Antonio was gonna win. It was a team effort vs Deni Avdija, hard to overcome that.
