1,297 games is longer than the entire regular-season careers of:
Michael Jordan (1,072 games)
Kobe Bryant (1,346; LeBron’s streak was only 49 games shy of Kobe’s whole career)
Bill Russell (963)
Larry Bird (897)
Magic Johnson (906)
There have been 21 different NBA champions since the streak began.
The Raptors franchise has only existed for 2,374 regular-season games total...LeBron’s streak covered more than half of the Raptors’ entire existence.
He passed Kareem’s previous record of 787 games way back in 2018 and just kept trucking for another 510 games. At age 40, in his 23rd season, the streak finally ends not because he’s washed, but because his teammate was in position for a better shot to win the game.

INSANT CLASSIC! This game deserves my first 10 rating. LEBRON MAKES THE RIGHT PLAY AND SACRIFICES HIS 10 POINT STREAK AND PASSED TO RUI FOR THE WALKOFF GAME WINNING 3. For the first time since Jan. 5, 2007, LeBron finished with 8 points ending his 1,297 game streak with at least 10+ points in a game. McQueen is fading unfortunately 😭

What a game! Reaves had 44 points and the Lakers played great even though there was no Luka, but LeBron’s 10 point streak was in trouble! It was on life support last game, and he was able to statpad in garbage time to hit it, but this game was close! He had 8 points with the chance to hit the game winner, but he sacrificed his streak by dishing a great pass to Rui and he hits the buzzer beater 3!

Great game, back-and-forth and lots of offense. But this one hurt. The Raptors played super well offensively. 7 guys scored double digit points and we shot well as a team. Nearly 50% from the field and over 40% from 3. If our defense had been able to make consistent stops at any point, we would have won this easily. The only good thing the defense did was end LeBron’s 18 year double digit points streak and I’d love to brag about that. Problem is James picked us apart in that 4th quarter including the pass that set up the game winning 3 for Rui. Of course before that we couldn’t stop Austin Reaves. He absolutely went off almost like he is determined to prove the hype around him isn’t solely Lakers bias. He was genuinely terrific. Both teams punched back and forth, but in the end, Raptors had their chance to win it and missed their chance while the Lakers converted their chance. Not a great sign against the Luka-less Lakers, but something to work on.
