The only good things about this game were Cam Thomas appearing to have recovered from his injury and Amen Thompson being a total baller. Although I will admit this felt like bullying. The Rockets starters were still in halfway through the 4th quarter when the Rockets were winning by 20. It’s like watching the guy who has figured things out and who’s only New Year’s resolutions are to keep doing what they did last year flex on a guy who has had a tough couple years since they broke up with their partner and are hoping today is finally the year they put it all together. To avoid personifying these teams owned by billionaires too much, I’m going to actually talk about the game. Believe it or not, this is only KD’s 40th double digit assist game and his first one since December of 2023. Sengun was great as well alongside Tari Eason, but again, Amen Thompson was the standout and a genuine baller. Rockets dominated from the get-go and never let go. Deserved win, but one that looked too easy.

The Rockets played their starters against Brooklyn’s bench while up 20 in the fourth quarter. Michael Porter Jr. was out, and I’m led to believe he’s the only reason Brooklyn has won any games at all. The Nets are absolutely dreadful, and they insisted on playing their scrubs down the stretch.

Nets without MPJ got me yawning like crazy. Need that man back ASAP. Very comfortable win for KD in his unwelcome return to Brooklyn. Rockets cruised to victory after a relatively back and forth first quarter. A necessary win for Rockets though, now 4 in a row which will be a huge confidence boost for them after going through the poor form they endured recently. A very solid return for Sengun, but a big game for Amen with his best performance in a while
