Portland did not give up, that was key to this rating. Would have loved to see the arena explode like it did in that Liberty game (which feels like a lifetime ago for the fledgling team) yet the Mercury get away with the Commissioner's Cup W.

There were multiple points where i thought phoenix would actually bottle it given how they have played these past couple of games but they stayed strong even at the end and grabbed the dub, you love to see it.

I agree with kingsfan’s sentiment after rewatching the game. The Portland Fire fought HARD to make a comeback, but the Phoenix Mercury always seemed to withstand any kind of run that the Fire attempted.

Ditto to Kingsfan the fire fought hard to keep this close the mercury just stayed one step ahead the whole game, good play though.

Portland didn’t go away, but the Mercury are able to hold them off

I picked Portland to win this one. Phoenix jumped out to an early lead and kept it for most of the game. The Fire looked like the might win, but ultimately they just couldn’t sustain a run to get the victory. Barker hit some shots at the end to help the Mercury win.
