WE FUCKING DID IT OH MY GOD So I came back to tell you all a little story. One of my uncles was born in 1974 directly after the Knicks won their championship. He was always my favorite uncle growing up. I had so many memories with him. After COVID hit it dismantled his life because he was virtually lonely and just the virus itself and affected him to the point where he needed help to live. Basketball was always his escape. He passed away late 2024. He told me a lot of things. But one of those things always stuck with me. He said, word for word, "I know the Knicks will win the championship again. And I just want you to know that whether it feels like it or not, whether it looks like it or not, I will be there with you when they raise the trophy again." He never truly saw a championship. But tonight it felt like he did. It felt like Uncle Kyle was there with me cheering the Knicks on. It felt like he was there with me crying tears at my TV. And in my heart he was.

One of the earliest memories of my life is of the Knicks. Im 6 years old and it’s me and my grandpa. He is taking me by the hand and to the hardwood of MSG. Then there’s Charles Oakley ignoring me and my mom and then my mom saying something to the effect of “Charles what about your mom?” And him snapping his entire head around and signing the pin. And then there was years of space. Decades. I listened to Gus Johnson’s shrieking and Brandon Tierney’s bemoaning on the radio. The Knicks were bad. So bad. Linsanity was a reprieve from Melo. No one wanted us. We consistently missed on free agents. Dolan put me on a watchlist because I tweeted that I would punch him if I saw him. And I would’ve. Because I love the Knicks that much. I love the Knicks and I always felt like they didn’t love me back. Then came Jalen and Josh. And Mikal. And Mitch who was always there. Shamet.KAT. OG!! Man. They loved each other. They loved me. Love wins.

A lot of people want to consider this win very bad for the city and its infrastructure, but I believe it’s the greatest thing that’s ever happened to them! The Knicks are no stranger to winning titles, but they have been so long that the fan base can’t even truly remember them, they waited year in, and year out, for the off chance that something good would happen. They sat through decades of being mediocre. I know the feeling. You never know how important something is, until you remember you were always told you’d never have it. I live by that qoute. Party your hearts out tonight, New York. In spirit of the city. If you're near a convenience store right now, any type of 24 hour store, go into the store right now, and put your hand in the cash register for no reason!

Jalen Brunson scored 45 points out of the 94 total points. That says EVERYTHING you need to know about this man. In his postgame interview he said “don’t be afraid to fail” and that couldn’t hit closer to home. RateGame is the hardest, riskiest, most challenging thing we’ve ever done. There have been many days where I had to work really hard to push the thought out that this thing could fail. But if Jalen Brunson can do it AND WIN. So can WE. So can RateGame. So can this community of absolutely incredible people we’ve gathered here who love sports for what it really is. Nick and I hopped in a cab after the game and said “just drive uptown!”And we proceeded to scream at the top of our lungs “Let’s go Knicks!!!!” Heads out of the cab. Dapping people up in the middle of the street. Totally illegal. TOTALLY DIDN’T CARE. Because no one can stop us, we ALL THE WAY UP!!! Easiest most genuine 10.0 I’ve rated to date. THANK YOU NEW YORK 🧡💙🧡💙🧡

First things first, congrats to the Knicks for an unwillingness to never give up and show that no spurs lead is safe (including the 29 point collapse) is insane and goes to show how dominant they’ve been these playoffs. Brunson was frying our shit the entire game too. This to me boils down to a few players the most obvious being fox who decided he’d rather be an Amazon worker then play in the finals. Regardless, him and his 228 MILLION dollar contract need to be gone whenever the spurs front office realizes that even though you just beat the reigning champs, you still aren’t enough to beat the Knicks. Castle was terrible today as-well but I digress. Wemby in his first finals was up and down (no doubt he’ll be back). What an agonizing and disappointing end to a fun season. Anyways NYC was always going to implode regardless of the outcome of this series.

Very fitting. 56 years after a little guard named Walt Frazier put up the best Finals performance in Knicks history to help the Knicks clinch their first championship, New York’s new favourite little guard Jalen Brunson outdoes him to claim New York’s 3rd championship. It was a slow start, no buckets until Wemby blocked a KAT shot and got a slam on the other side. The Knicks responded with a 3 (might as well be a microcosm of this Knicks team and run). After that, scoring came at a premium. Only Brunson could find any semblance of a shot. The Knicks had 0 bench points through nearly 3 full quarters. It was looking bleak. But just like they’ve done all year and all playoffs long, they found enough resilience to claw back, woke up in the 4th and pulled away from their opponent. This is 1000% deserves and will surely go down as one of the greatest runs in NBA history. The actual game itself was alright. Close, while being quite sloppy. But for the historic moment, it has to be green.

I never thought i would see this moment. My entire life, 25 years, we’ve been the laughingstock of the league. I love my family, I love my daughter, I love my city, I love my God, and I love Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks. I am so happy I have no words
