Man, the Kraken really know how to make Flames games super entertaining. I missed watching Dustin Wolf. Kraken peppered Wolf pretty much all game long and Wolf stood tall the entire time. Even the 1 goal he gave up was almost a miraculous save. Grubauer also played really well, making this a pre-season goalie duel. But it wasn’t just a goalie duel. It was also a duel between 2024 first round picks. Berkly Catton and Matvei Gridin both scored a goal each while posing a threat on every shift. Very fitting that those guys basically decided it in the shootout with Gridin scoring the winner. For Gridin specifically, I’ve been really impressed with him. He and Rory Kerins making a strong case to make the Flames roster on opening night this preseason.
