Had to watch the highlights. Because I had to be somewhere. But what a great game, Cytil with an amazing game. Thank goodness for Petey not being injured on that dumb hit. But I think this will be a great year. 81 games to go

The feistiness in this game was even higher than the Battle of Alberta. This rivalry deserves more respect, but that’s for another discussion. The feistiness in this game turned it into a scrappy goalie duel for 2 periods. Both Wolf and Demko impressed, but Demko won the day. Sure, one of the goals was supreme bad luck with Bahl getting a puck to the back of the head and going down onto Wolf. But even if they reversed that goal (which would’ve been the wrong thing to do), the Flames still couldn’t get anything on Demko until the game was basically over. The 3rd period just confirmed a deserved win for the Canucks as the Flames were more concerned with getting even than actually tying the game, only the Frost-Farabee-Sharky line was generating anything. A shame, but I’m relieved Zary is okay. Hopefully Bahl is too. Also, please actually play Zayne Parekh. Our scoring needs a jolt and this game should be proof our defense isn’t gonna get much worse with him.
