Wasn’t the blowout I thought it would be and the game was better for it. The Dream claw their way towards a win on the back of a woman that has an uncharacteristic efficient outing. Angel Reese has been criticized for many things during her WNBA career, some valid and others not. With that being said, she was a total beast tonight, especially down the stretch when they needed her most.
It didn’t look like they would need her to takeover for 3 quarters. Even though the Plum-less Sparks had a hot streak in the 2nd to take the lead, Atlanta had control most of the way through. As a matter of fact, that 2nd quarter was virtually the only lead LA held throughout this game. Still, they managed to make it close in the final minutes, taking a 2-point lead briefly, then Angel took over. With the game tied at 87, she (a player shooting below 10% from 3 this seasons) hit a 3, made a couple free throws and stole the ball to set up Canada’s layup to give Atlanta a 7-point lead. That sealed it up.

Very impressive game from the Sparks as they were down big and made the giant comeback in the 4th quarter, but Atlanta did an incredible job closing it out. The Dream really ran away with it to make this score a lot more lopsided than this game was. Good on the Sparks for hanging in there though

I was beginning to wonder if the Dream were actually going to make a shot in the fourth quarter. They went ice cold and let the Sparks back in it, but went on a big run to end the game. Angel Reese with yet another double-double. She was perfect from the line and even made a three. A much needed win for Atlanta.
