WE ALMOST WON, ILL TAKE THAT

Getting beat by the sun in this day and age is the equivalent of getting beat by the 1899 Cleveland spider! (Elite ball knowledge required)

I missed the entire first half of this game thanks to sleeping in, but it looked like the Sun were going to run away with it when I tuned in! That was until Portland made a couple great comeback pushes in the 4th quarter! Unfortunately for the Fire, they come up just short to give the Sun another win! The Sun have quietly been playing some pretty solid basketball!

Aaliyah Edwards with an incredible performance off the bench to get a nice win for the Sun. I have no idea why games are starting at 11 AM, and I completely forgot about this or I would've tried to watch. Brittney Griner also had a great game, but it was Aaliyah Edwards leading the way despite starting the game on the bench.

The Sun came out red hot in the first quarter. They were hitting shots and making great passes and Edwards had 12 points. The Sun controlled the game even when the Fire made their run in the third quarter. Every time they would get close the Sun would extend the lead. The Fire just ran out of time and didn’t get off the shot they wanted at the buzzer.

Connecticut survives a close one to Portland after generally leading throughout the whole game. Props to Edwards and Griner with 20-pt performances and the Fire for not fizzling out quick. The Sun... boast a 4-3 record in their last 7 games.
