Holy moly what a 3rd…
First time in franchise history that we win after being down 3 goals going to the final period. Out of 310 previous times it’s happened, this is the first time we’ve won.
First two periods were completely flat. It felt like watching peak early 2010s Leafs disappointment. The boys turned it around a full 540 degrees. Absolutely fantastic.
Not even Knies had any passion in the first two periods that’s how bad it was.
Prime Monday commentary is hilarious, I need to watch Monday games more often.
The Jay’s spirit of the comeback has been transferred from the Skydome to Scotiabank and it was on full display over the last 20 minutes.
Stolarz proving again and again why he’s our MVP.
Willy with 2 out of nowhere. Almost a hatty on the empty net.
3 goals in 3:30 min.
Absolute heater. Get the parade ready. Go Leafs go. 🍁🇨🇦🚨🏒

At first, it looked like the Leafs were still in shock after the World Series, but then it shifted violently. The first period was a bit even until Erik Karlsson sniped one over Stolarz’s shoulder, and then a weird goal brought Toronto to stunned silence for the 2nd time in the last 3 days. They didn’t even have it in them to boo. In the 2nd… my god, the Leafs were pathetic. They only had 1 shot for 16 minutes and got a grand total of 3 shots in the entire period. I have no idea what Craig Berube said to the Leafs during the 2nd intermission, but it cured the Leafs’ case of narcolepsy. The Leafs completely turned it around and outplayed the Pens. The Leafs both tied it up and won the game thanks to whatever adjustment they made. They wouldn’t have gotten that chance if not for Stolarz holding down the fort. This game originally looked like a statement win for the Pens and turned into a Leafs comeback that could bring the Pens back to Earth and revitalize Toronto’s season.
