In a game where Toronto celebrated John Tavares’s 500 goals, they got to see him score goal #501 which ended up being the winner tonight. Like seemingly every Utah Mammoth game, they made it entertaining with their offensive flow, even in a game that lacked in action at points. The low-event nature of this game didn’t take away from how close this game was… until Maccelli scored with 4 minutes left to give the Leafs a 2 goal lead. The dam broke after that and it became a brief goal fest. Side note for the Mammoth: y’all may want to look into defending passes from behind the net, felt like every goal they gave up came from that. Don’t let the final score fool you, almost half of the goals came in the last 4 minutes and not in dramatic fashion.
