This game was already special, Nazem Kadri’s 1000th game, he became the first Muslim to play 1000 NHL games. Historic moment in both the NHL and hockey in general. Even better, this game kicked off with a bang when Morgan Frost and Blake Coleman scored a goal each less than 2 minutes in. Then that was quickly followed up by a nasty Marchenko short-handed goal on a breakaway. Game slowed down a bit after that, but picked right back up in the 2nd, Wolf made some sweet saves and then Kadri got his goal in game 1000, followed up with a Klapka goal. Despite all the elite vibes and shocking goal scoring, it wouldn’t be a Flames game without letting the other team dominate us for a good chunk of time. Columbus got plenty of chances to make this a game down the stretch, but Wolf shut the door, making 22 saves in the 3rd period alone. On top of everything else that had me smiling all game, we also got a Wolf masterclass. The top tier vibes from last year returned tonight in emphatic fashion.
