Crosby and Malkin continue to defy Father Time and make their mark as one of the greatest duos in NHL history. In potentially one of the final chapters of the Crosby-Ovechkin rivalry, we got a spectacle. It started out as the Crosby show. 2 goals, including a laser on the power play helped give the Penguins get an early 3 goal lead. But once again, they let their opponent get back into it. Even goals being overturned couldn’t stop the Capitals from tying it up right before the end of the 2nd on a Tom Wilson diving shot. Do the Penguins have a problem? This is the 2nd consecutive game where the Penguins have blown a 3 goal lead in 1 period. Fortunately, they actually managed to win this game while controlling play, but that can’t be a good trend. That win came thanks to a perfectly placed pass from Malkin to Rust who was FINALLY rewarded for getting so many chances in this game. That Penguins power play is legit, exactly what we thought it would be when the Pens traded for Karlsson.

I was at the edge of my seat from the second period onwards. I was going to eat a hole through my TV if the Pens lost another 3 goal lead. Also can we talk about how many time the puck hit the post? I’ve never seen that happen so much in one game! Highly recommend watching the highlights for this game if you didn’t get a chance to see it.
