Well, that changed quickly. In the last 5 minutes I had this game written down as a goalie duel between Sorokin and Markstrom. Fast paced for sure, but defined by its goalies. That got flipped completely. Starting with Kyle Palmieri, the former Devil, giving the Islanders the lead. As if that wasn’t crazy enough, a blast from Simon Nemec then tied it up with less than 5 seconds to go. Literally jumped out of my seat when that happened. Even better, this game was spared from the curse of the shootout. Barzal ends it in OT. Regardless of the goalies no longer defining it, Sorokin still saved the Islanders many times even before OT. This was a roller coaster with an unexpected drop and rise and big drop to end it in brilliant fashion.
