Darcy Kuemper has been absolutely stellar lately both goalies were fantastic all game, but then in the 3rd period the floor gates finally opened, I really thought Ottawa was going tie it, I really wanted them too at least. As soon as Dylan Cozens took that tripping penalty late into the 3rd I just felt the kings were going score. The Halliday hit, from Helenius should have been at bare minimum a 2 minute penalty, it was vicious looking. But a bright stop in this game is Fabian Zetterlund scoring again in back to back games, hopefully this is a sign of things to come

I certainly wouldn’t call this game boring (far from it), but it was somewhat unusual. If we look at the game as an old-fashioned scale, the scale remained unchanged throughout the first, second, and third periods of play. Even when Warren Foegele finally broke the deadlock for the Kings, the scale only leaned slightly in LA’s favour before the Senators tied it up with Zetterlund’s scrappy goal. After that, it was like a switch was flipped. The tension escalated exponentially as did the action, leading to Brandt Clarke blasting in the game winner off a one-timer. Kinda feel bad for Leevi, who’s had a tough year, got unlucky tonight. Meanwhile Kuemper was rock solid all game long, especially when the Kings needed him to close it out. Joel Edmundson was also good. On a personal note, it feels like each Kings game I have watched has involved a stand-out performance from Joel… maybe that’s just me.
