Two very aesthetically pleasing teams gives us very aesthetically pleasing hockey, I’m shocked as well. This game went back and forth. First period being all Montreal, making it look easy, but Utah is not a team you can take lightly and they owned the 2nd to grab the lead going into the 3rd. The Habs bounced back and took the lead back less than 5 minutes in. After that, it was the Jakub Dobes show. Call it cowardly, call it smart, the Habs played very conservative hockey after taking the lead and relied on Dobes to make it worth it. Luckily, he very much did, making save after save to maintain the Habs’ lead until the very end. The last few minutes were especially tense with Utah hanging on to the puck seemingly forever. Aside from a garbage icing call that muddied the end, this game was fast paced and nail-biting.

Another loss by Mammoth at home. With the SOG difference Utah should have taken this easily. Not shoot enough when on the power play and letting these terrible turnovers happen. Mostly giveaways by bad passing. They let momentum drop and it continues to spiral down from there. The game was never out of reach but sweated like it was.
