The Leafs problems only continue to mount as the Capitals make the comeback and get a valuable win in a tight Eastern conference. In all honesty, I’m kinda surprised the Caps needed a comeback. I thought they outplayed them pretty much all game. Especially in the 3rd period when the Leafs showed basically 0 urgency until the Caps took the lead. Logan Thompson, while not his best game, had an iconic glove save in the final seconds to keep the lead alive. Chychrun blasted the game winning goal past Joseph Woll, breaking the back of a goalie that is trying to be Atlas for the Leafs. Colin McMichael was also terrific, not only igniting the comeback with a late goal in the 2nd, but initiated the play that set up Chychrun for the game winner. Chychrun’s goal makes it 5 games in a row with a goal, just 3 away from the record holder and former Capital Mike Green.
