Ok, this one, this one had to been one of the craziest 3rd periods so far this season, that was insane, the flames really made that a game. You need a little bit of luck to be good sometimes, then Joel Farabee was rewarded with a penalty shot and beat John Gibson who had been a brick wall thus far, low glove side, with a just a clean shot. Then no pun intended that lit a flame under Calgary, who then scored a minute later and then again with a shot from Makenzie Weeger. Now with plenty of time left, I thought the flames were going pull it off, but John Gibson locked back in and took it for the redwings. Gibson was unstoppable for about 53 minutes of the game. Debrincat had 2 goals and had so many chances for that hatrick and Kaner still got gas in the tank. This game can’t be rated any higher than a 9 for me becuase it only got interesting in the 3rd

I was fully ready to write off this game as another Flames game where they let the game get away from them early and were plunged back to Earth after flying high. After 2 periods of the DeBrincat skating circles around us and Cooley having just his 2nd bad performance of the season, it’s like a switch was flipped (or fire got lit) in the 3rd period. Flames had been peppering Gibson all night long but they actually started getting good chances in the 3rd while preventing Detroit from getting their own. Farabee got the rare shorthanded penalty shot goal, then Coronato blasted a one timer and Weegar added his own blast from the point to bring them Flames within one, all while firing up the crowd. Sadly (or luckily if you’re in team tank) the Flames couldn’t complete the comeback and their winning streak ended. Glad this wasn’t a total blowout, especially with Hunter Brzustewicz’s season debut. The Michigan man was… fine. Nothing special, but not bad. Gibson was terrific, even with the 3rd

What a game. Can't believe Detroit almost choked their 4-0 lead. They had the rhythm and completely shifted it over in the third. 2nd period was also terrible letting Calgary take 17 shots. John Gibson was really solid tonight and the Red Wings core was shining. I really loved Andersson and Weegar's game. They play really well together when they need to make something happen.
