The kind of game you would expect especially with Marina Mabrey out and the Tempo on the road. Toronto got double figures from all of their starters, but only eight bench points. Sabally led the Tempo with 19 points and 8 rebounds. The Valkyries defense did their job holding Toronto to under 80 points. Janelle Salaün had the hot hand for Golden State scoring 24 points off the bench and hitting 4 threes. Gabby Williams and Veronica Burton also had 15 and 17 points. The bench scored 46 points and was really the difference in this one. Golden State coasted to a win against a less than full-strength Tempo.

A good day for WNBA games ends with a bit of a lackluster one. Obviously, the Valkyries are the much better team in this game, but I was definitely hoping the Tempo could be closer for more of this contest. This game was fun at times, especially when Toronto was looking good. They let Golden State run away with a lead a couple of times, but the first couple runs were erased pretty quickly! The Tempo needed a big push that they got right before halftime to set up what I hoped would be a fun second half, and Toronto actually took a solid lead early in the third quarter, but Golden State wouldn’t mess around after that. The Valkyries went on a giant run right before the fourth quarter, and that was all they would need to coast to a pretty easy win. I expected just a little big more from this game
