holy dogshit lol, canucks goals are ref donation and lucky bounce for an own goal on a shot 5 feet wide. and yet the devils played even worse! couldnt match that score even with a 5 on 3 for 1:19. also no hughes bowl so cant even say it was entertaining outside of the bad playing

The Hughes vs. Hughes matchup that is no more, but the Canucks didn’t miss a beat in that first period. Zeev Buium made a great first impression on the Canucks-faithful. An assist and a goal is a great start, even though the goal was thanks to Brenden Dillon putting it in his own net. Speaking of a Hughes, Luke Hughes was great, even got a goal out of it. The true star of this game was Thatcher Demko. After pouncing on the Devils early and keeping up well in the 1st, the Devils took more and more control until those final minutes in the 3rd were all Devils. It was all on Demko’s shoulders to hang on to the lead and he did exactly that, shutting the door on any Devils comeback. Those last couple minutes got very intense and the Canucks skaters did just enough to not make Demko’s job impossible. How ironic, the Canucks win their first game post-Quinn Hughes trade against the Devils, imagine if the Wild lose tonight.
