Not our best first period of the year. Jacob Fowler was standing on his head to save us. Really good job for Montreal on the penalty kill. Boston had no room for zone entries and pass possession. Love how we responded in the second with a nasty breakaway from Demidov and a crazy little fake move by Caufield to put it in between Swayman's legs. Suzuki really turned it up in the third, wasn't really popping off beforehand. Great 3 point night for Lane Hutson, nothing too special for him.

Despite the lopsided nature of this rivalry in recent years, the bitter feelings never left. We got 2 fights to start. First, it was Josh Anderson and Tanner Jeannot and it was alright. Then we got a heavyweight tilt between Nikita Zadorov and Arber Xhekaj. Average height and weight between the pair is 6 ft 5.5 inches and 246 lbs. It was a sign. This game was chippy. Through 2 periods and 7 minutes, the Bruins had control but the Habs took advantage of their few chances, including a silky-smooth Demidov goal. However, everything changed on the Bolduc goal. Despite it being a routine breakaway turned goal off a rebound, Bruins challenged for goaltender interference and failed. At that point, the Bruins fell apart. They became more interested in getting even rather than winning and the Habs dominated the rest of the game while Boston fans booed and whined. Crummy way to end a great rivalry game, still fun to watch two bitter rivals fight, even at the cost of some entertainment value.
