The Chicago Sky used a great first quarter and a strong fourth quarter to beat the LA Sparks. Dearica Hamby had a double-double with 22 points and 14 rebounds to lead LA, but Nneka Ogwumike had a tough shooting night going 5-13 and only scoring 10 points. The Sky had a balanced attack with five players in double figures, including Cloud, Sheldon and Cardoso each scoring 15 points. Williams scored 14 points and Coulibaly had 13. Chicago has won 3 of their last 4 games and seem to be playing better. We’ll see how they do on Saturday against the Indiana Fever. That would be a quality win, especially on the road.

The Sparks are just so disappointing man. It really seemed like they could do something special this year, and then they turn around and play these bad games. There was a bit of promise as there were times this game was very close, but the Sky dominated most of this one. Most of the first quarter was close until Chicago went on a giant run. The Sky had a 15 point lead by the end of the first. That lead lasted through the half, but the Sparks would make their big comeback push to start the third! They were going blow for blow through the entire third and the start of the fourth until Chicago pulled very far away again. It seemed like this would be a great finish for a chunk of time, but the Sky said no to that. Chicago would coast to the finish as the Sparks go right back to losing. Los Angeles lets me down again
