A historic game and I’m not saying that because the Predators helped the Flames get a slightly better draft pick from Vegas. Steven Stamkos became the 22nd player in NHL history to score 600 goals with a signature blast from the edge of a face-off circle. 1st period was great, a ton of goals and no good goaltending. 2nd period was slow and lacked action and then the 3rd was ALL Vegas and yet they somehow couldn’t get great chances to save their life until the last 10 minutes when the Predators embraced their Trotz influence and shut the door on any comeback. Stamkos is obviously the biggest story in this game, but Annunen deserves credit for helping Nashville hang on to their lead when Vegas had all the plays go their way in the 3rd. This was also a good showing of resilience with this being a comeback win since Vegas went up 2-0 in the 1st and never scored again. Just a good team win for a team that has had a rough year and a half.
