What a comeback from the sun! I expected the Mercury to completely run away with this one and it looked like I would be right when Phoenix took a big lead right away, but Connecticut would eventually come storming back! They wouldn’t in the first half though. The third quarter is where they made their move! The Sun defense was awesome in the that quarter as they made this game neck and neck! This would be a great race to the finish where it would be Connecticut barely squeaking out a win! The Sun actually win another game!

The Sun with a nice comeback win. The Mercury had a terrible third quarter. Scoring only nine points and Connecticut saved their best for last and scored 26 points in the fourth. If you want to place the blame somewhere put it at the free throw line. Phoenix missed 10 shots from the line. You just can’t do that and expect to win. Plum was the high scorer for the Mercury with 25 points. The Sun got production from their bench with Burke scoring 15 and Edward’s scoring 14 points. Props to Brittany Griner for her block and the three attempt from Plum to seal the win.

In what should’ve been a get-right game against a 7-win team, the Mercury looked horrendous as a unit for the second half, their third quarter offense and fourth quarter defense ultimately doing them in after setting high expectations in the first. Can’t miss 10 free throws, and you’ve gotta get Plum more looks in the third.
