Revenge of the Sith, starring Darth Vladar

Daniel Vladar was drafted by the Bruins in the 3rd round of the 2015 draft. After years of bouncing between lower leagues, he finally found strong form in the AHL from 2019 to 2021 racking up a save percentage above .930. Unfortunately, he couldn’t match that in the NHL and the Bruins gave up on him, trading him to Calgary in July of 2021. Although I have no way to confirm this, I like to imagine that trade set Vladar on the path of revenge. With this game tonight, Vladar has played in 140 NHL games. In his career, he has maintained a save percentage of .930 or above against exactly 3 teams. First, the Florida Panthers. He has played 5 games against them, won 3 and accumulated a lifetime save percentage of .932 against Florida. Next is the Ottawa Senators. He has played 4 games against them, won 1 game and accumulated a lifetime save percentage of .940 against Ottawa. Finally, there is a team he has played 5 times, won twice and accumulated a lifetime save percentage of .946. That team is the Boston Bruins with this win. If not for Charlie McAvoy’s late goal, the Bruins would’ve become the only team Vladar has shutout twice. So close. He likely will get 1 more chance this season.
