Top fan take from @FlameRaptorRaven: “The Battle of Pennsylvania except without 67% of Pittsburgh’s big names. Even with that, this game was still great… at times. Where this game lacked in quantity of chances and great goaltending, it made up for it with tension. That tension came from two sources. First, the tight score. Although team led in this game for a grand total of 6 minutes and the longest continuous period with a team in the lead was about 4 minutes. Novak scored the first goal only for Tippett to score less than a minute later. Rakell scored in the 2nd to take the lead back and Bump scored the first goal of his career in his debut less than a minute later. Finally, Erik Karlsson scored and Pittsburgh held the lead for 4 minutes before Barkey scored to tie it up. Ironically, I thought Pittsburgh was the better team throughout regulation and overtime which led to the 2nd source of tension: frustration. The rivalry remains strong and it’s a shame this game ended in a shootout. Just wish this game had been better.”
