Well that was a fun one. You could tell two playoff teams were playing. There are a few teams bunched up in the standings so these games matter. This was definitely a team win for New York. Jonquel Jones was key to start the game and had a double-double, Breanna Stewart was steady throughout, Leonie Fiebich scored 20 and hit a few key threes, Han Xu had 9 points in 11 minutes to make the most of her time and Rebecca Allen hit some much-needed threes in the fourth quarter. For Indiana, Kelsey Mitchell continues her streak of +20 point games. Great game.

Closer than the final score says and the final score is pretty damn close already. This is a game where 1 team just had to lose… and should’ve hit more free throws. It was tight all the way through, including the ending when it felt like a battle, the Liberty just always managed to remain a step ahead. We nearly had 6 combined 20-point scorers in this game.
Kelsey Mitchell, Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston, Breanna Stewart and Leonie Fiebich each had 20 and Jonquel Jones had 19. Don’t feel bad, Jones has bragging rights with her double-double, the only player to achieve one in this game.
This game ultimately came down to the 4th and the Liberty started it with a Fiebich 3 to give New York a 10-point lead. Surely it’s game over, right? Nope. Everyone’s favourite and least favourite Fever players (iykyk) helped Indiana tie the game up with a Kelsey Mitchell capping it off. Then Fiebich clutched up with an and-one and in spite of an amazing taken charge from Myisha, Indiana fell short.

This was an amazing game! It was always close, but the Fever weirdly could never grab the lead for any sort of sustained amount of time. As a byproduct, the Liberty looked to be the better team since they were the only team in this game to have any sort of multi score lead. This was still a great game though, and this contest went right down to the wire! It was close through all of the fourth quarter after Indiana made up New York’s lead, but the Fever were pretty bad in the foul game so the Liberty are able to pull away at the end! Great effort for the Fever, and an amazing showing from the Libs!
