Top fan take from @FlameRaptorRaven: “Right when the Rangers appeared to be turning the corner, they welcome Panarin back to MSG by reminding him why he wanted to leave. 1st period wasn’t too for the Rangers. Although I’d say the Kings were the better team, using my beloved seasaw analogy, it was leaning towards the Kings with their side close to the ground. The Kings clearly took exception to that, found an elephant, tossed it on their side and completely dominated New York in the 2nd period. I say teams flat-line sometimes, but that feels too generous for how the Rangers performed. They threw themselves into their own grave and buried themselves under it. That would be bad enough, but the 3rd really made this even worse for me. Kings turned on autopilot and took a nap in the 3rd which ruined Kuemper’s shutout and made the final period a bore. Mikey Anderson was great, Alex Lafferriere looked far better than Alexis Lafreniere and Doughty had a vintage performance. But other than them and Kuemper being solid, this was lame”
