Top fan take from @FlameRaptorRaven: “This started with and contained frustrations boiling over and ended with some satisfying revenge for last season. Lots of bitterness in this game and the origin is obvious. Calgary could’ve easily been up 3-0 after the 1st period, but they had 2 goals reversed thanks to reviews. Then the Flames had a goal reversed in the 2nd period before it was half over. That is 3 goals in less than 30 minutes called back thanks to coach’s challenges and reviews. To be fair, I thought 2 of them were justified, I still think the high stick was BS. The biggest victim of the reversed goals was Connor Zary, who would’ve had the 2nd 3-point game of his career if not for Jim Montgomery’s big mouth. Despite Calgary overwhelming the Blues consistently through the first half of the game, I think the reversed goals eventually got to Calgary’s mindset. Or they got gassed, you decide. Either way, the Blues outplayed the Flames in the 2nd half and we got OT, then a shootout where Farabee and Gridin won it.”
