Seattle’s collapse (intentional or otherwise) rages on thanks to a stout Hellebuyck and strange goalie issues for Seattle. 1st period was great. A bit slow, but tight hockey is almost never boring. Eberle snuck a goal by Hellebuyck to open the scoring only for another old man whose name starts with J to tie it up for the Jets. Still anyone’s game after the 1st period. It really fell apart for the Kraken in the 2nd. Hellebuyck was rock solid. Not quite Olympic form, but not far. Meanwhile, the Kraken were seemingly indecisive with their goaltending tandem. Daccord came in for Grubauer and wasn’t much better. To be fair, blaming the goalies solely for a loss is lazy and often unfair. Especially when Vilardi was on fire with his passes. Kyle Connor’s shot was working for him tonight and Schiefele took a playmaking role rather than the sniping that has been his calling card throughout his career. Also Morrissey continues to be great. The Jets have somehow revived their playoff hopes.
