Detroit tried desperately to save their season while Columbus tried eagerly to complete their miraculous in-season turnaround. Naturally, these teams went at each other and the crowd eventually made this feel like a playoff game. I think pessimism really comes into play for that sort of thing. Danton Heinen didn’t wait long to break the ice and gave Columbus a 1-0 lead. Red Wings fans were probably ready to think about who the Red Wings would hire as GM. Larkin managed to tie it and revive hope in the Motor City as the scale felt like it could go either way. So of course, the Red Wings went to a hero they know so well… Justin Faulk. He scored 2 goals and could’ve easily won the game for them. Instead, Columbus has a certain Michigan alumni to save them. Werenski kept the Jackets alive and won it in a shootout for them. He’s so good dude.”
