Top fan take from @FlameRaptorRaven: I’m standing up and giving the Flames a round of applause for that performance for nearly coming back and shocking the Avs. Yes, Calgary got dominated for 80% of this game. Yes, they only had a chance because Colorado took their foot off the gas. Yes, it hurt immensely to watch Tyson Gross’s game-tying goal get called back due to an offside review. I do not care. The Flames showed a ton of resilience and grit to give Colorado a scare late. For a team that is bad with an anemic offense, I’m very pleased with what they showed in the 3rd period. We have to talk about Tyson Gross. Not only did he get his first NHL goal in the finals minutes, but he scored his 2nd NHL goal and would’ve tied the game had it not been called back. Even without Coleman, Backlund proved capable of lifting up lines as the centre. Almost like he’s just good. Still, the man of the hour was Dustin Wolf. Anyone who thinks he is a fluke needs to watch this game. He was superhuman. He made them WORK for each goal.
