Sergeev’s Busy Year

Arsenii Sergeev made his NHL debut in this game after a long road this season. The 2021 7th round pick started his season with Calgary’s ECHL team (think of the ECHL as AA or High-A). He was terrific there and got called up to the AHL after just 12 games. The AHL is basically Triple A, it’s the closest minor league to the NHL. Sergeev hit the ground running with a 52 save win against the San Diego Gulls (San Jose’s AHL affiliate). After that, he was mostly okay. He was the best goalie on the team, but couldn’t get his save percentage above .900. Finally, Sergeev got called up to the NHL. Just like his AHL debut, he shined against a California-based team, only allowed 1 goal and got the win. Sergeev became the only goalie this season to play in the ECHL, AHL and NHL. He also became the only one to win a game in all 3 leagues.
