Very happy this series isn’t turning into a wash, at least for now. Minnesota gets a much-needed win in dominant fashion and they looked good doing it. The Wild couldn’t afford to go down 3-0 and their biggest moves/acquisitions made sure they wouldn’t have to deal with that fate. Kaprizov proving the largest contract in NHL history is worth it with his performance. He scored the first goal to kick off a rally that led Minnesota to take a 3-0 lead before this game was even half-over. Quinn Hughes scored the 2nd goal to help with that. There was a moment when I thought that Colorado could storm back after that MacKinnon goal. Maybe a comeback is on. Brock Faber eliminated that thought with a goal 20 seconds later. Flukey or not, that goal killed Colorado’s chances and the Wild outplayed them the rest of the way. I will admit this was more fun than a typical blowout thanks to Minnesota’s wild crowd and elite play from the Wild’s best players, but it is still a blowout all the same.
