Well this definitely happened. I have no takeaways from this at all. This is extremely boring, pathetic, and was a waste of time. It wasn’t even an elimination game, there was no stakes. I remember this morning I went on ESPN to try and bypass the time I had between finals and I saw this and I thought “that’s boring and nobody she probably watch that.” So, I would like to tell past NRL that he was very correct. I guess we play Carolina in the Stanley Cup finals, so congrats on winning the east. I have no idea what the game plan was for either team, the world has bigger problems.

The Hurricanes unleashed a storm in the Bell Centre by beating the Habs at their own game: crazy 1st periods. The storm came early and it looked like Montreal had weathered it. Too bad they missed the hurricane warning flags because Carolina scored 3 quick goals and put Montreal in a deep hole they couldn’t climb out of. Carolina proceeded to ragdoll the Habs. They got plenty of great chances in the 2nd, but Montreal had some decent ones as well. Then in the 3rd, Carolina treated Montreal like a speed bag. The shots were 19-3 in favour of Carolina. Before the last couple minutes when everyone knew this game was over, it was 18-1. In games 2 and 3, Montreal scrapped out close games and kept it competitive. Tonight, Carolina got them down for the count after 20 minutes and played with their food for the last 40.
The Hurricanes pulled this schtick back in 2006. When they faced Montreal they gave up 6 goals in game 1, but won the series with 4 straight wins. History is repeating itself.

Hurricanes not only stop the Canadiens from scoring the whole game but crush all hope and joy by scoring 3 goals in the 1st period!! Montreal couldn't get a shot off to save their lives! They fall into a 3-1 hole probably impossible to get out of. Vegas-Carolina.. yeah.. has a horrible ring to it.

Bro, this is just sad. The only game the Habs have had more than 20 shots on net in this series is game 1. YOU GOTTA SHOOT TO SCORE HABS. You even had more possession time than Carolina in this game so how do you still only manage to get 18 shots off. I know Carolina is a very suffocating team but like COME ON this is the conference finals you've shown your capable of much much better than this so show the fuck up. Your 3rd straight loss at home just what an unfortunate showing from this team.
