First Atalanta rating on RateGame! Instant improvement over a couple frustrating matchups last season for Atalanta when it comes to the final score, not in the case of on-field performance. Raspadori scored a beautiful bar down goal in the first 5 minutes to give Atalanta the lead. A perfect start that should’ve led to a strong performance. Instead, Sassuolo showed that they’re far better than a slouch. They became relentless. Atalanta got some great chances, including one from Zalewski, but after the 25th minute, Sassuolo was a constant threat. Carnesecchi had to make some big saves. We basically got a repeat of those games in the early 2nd half, except Atalanta failed to score early and Sassuolo managed to capitalize on their fist chance to level it. Didn’t feel good. Felt like Atalanta needed to respond quickly to have a chance. Fortunately that is exactly what they did thanks to Krstovic who had an excellent super sub performance alongside America’s favourite Belgian De Ketelaere.

Atalanta looked great so I’m happy for Flame, but this game wasn’t great. Sassuolo was pretty significantly better as they had all of the great quality opportunities, but that didn’t stop Atalanta! They opened the scoring in the 6th minute, and they would never trail! They did lead at the half, but Sassuolo was able to tie it back up very early into the second half! Atalanta had one more big push in them though as they would find their answer fairly soon after Sassuolo had tied it! Not the worst game, but it definitely could’ve been a bit better
